A beautiful mix between New Orleans style with Iowa comfort food. A staff with amazing talents. Service oriented, we know how to cook meats to keep the flavor and temperature you want. We also have vegetarian options. We pay attention to food.
Tried Augusta after reading some of the reviews here. Very glad I did! Their food is wonderful, get a lot for your money and they have some unique offerings. Great crab cakes. I had a steak that was wonderful. Cream corn was great too! It's in a cute downtown Oxford renovated building. Mix-match tables and chairs. Very cool place that's a reasonable drive from Iowa City (15-20 minutes). Do call ahead. They were very busy on Saturday night.
prices are so amazing it is unbelievable. We had an appetizer, three sandwiches, two desserts and a 16 dollar bottle of wine all for a total of $40! The food is out of this world, and the service is superb!
Mmm.. I can't wait for my next visit! EVERYTHING was delicious! Steak, greens, crab cakes... The short trip from Des Moines was WELL worth it. Don't forget to try the Chocolate Beignet - SOOOO good!
I know the website just got up, probably needs some fine tuning, they are more concerned on getting the food right, which they have!! The menus already changed from when my family went on the grand opening, The boneless fried chicken with mashed potatoes and creamed corn is a winner along with the Entire dessert menu ( luckily there was 20 of us one night and we ordered all and shared...some more nicely than others) I also have enjoyed their salads and Rob eye, mmmmm good!! Great value for the money and they have done special orders for some of the family with health concerns.
Great food. Get there early or make reservations, seemd to be the HOT place for great food and best prices.
Salmon, Po' Boys, GREAT STEAKS, Gumbo, and one of the best Sunday brunch's you will see anywhere. Lots of great food including Egg's Benedict, and a Prime rib to die for!
How lucky Oxford is to have this talent in their town! Everything tastes amazing from salad to dessert. The menu includes the usual restaurant items along with some very tempting rarities - like Sweet Potato Fries. The prices are reasonable and the staff exceptional! I can't wait to go back again!
Went to their website and chose 3 different buttons for menus,prices...and all that popped up was a website for DVD sales. They need to clean up the site if they want people to see what they have.
Either that or it is a phony sales website.
A beautiful marriage of good eats, awesome service, and very reasonable price points - which allows us to feel VERY fulfilled by eating there, as a young family. Everyone MUST check out Augusta in Oxford, IA - if you haven't already!!
