On September 11, 1999, the Sutliff bridge with its three arching steel spans over the Cedar river received its due recognition. It was on this date that the Johnson County Iowa Board of Supervisors placed the 102 year old structure on the National Registry of Historic Places. The old bridge now offers its visitors a one of kind view of the fast flowing Cedar river as well as a nice place to sit and visit with friends and family alike.
Sutliff is a little family atmosphere with a very friendly trained well staff. Sutliff is a nice place to buy a burger(or tenderloin,or anything else And an ICE COLD BEER (or pop) and go enjoy the scenery.
great to hook up johndeer tractors and couple of hayracks get some of the WESTERN NEIGHBORHOOD together and take a saturday or sunday afternoon and take a ride and enjoy some great food !

My buddy & I have been fishing on the Cedar river forever....Nothing like a day of fishing when you can boat up to the bar...stop in for a tenderloin, beer and worms. Always a great time. Does anyone know just how much money is on that ceiling? If i didnt have to get back to my boat, i reckon i would have some beers and count it.
If you've been there just once, or returning for the 50th time...its the same wonderful experience! You say Sutliff, and people from near and far say..."oh yes, i've been out there, isnt it great!"
The locals are ever present, the river in its beauty just waiting for you to grab a beer and a burger, and come sit on it, to enjoy the scenery. The experience is worth the drive. Not to mention the food...it really doesn't get any better than this!! Those folks know how to put out a fantastic burger..tenderloin..you name it! When you stop by, depending on the season, there may be a lot of motorcyles, maybe pickups..maybe snow mobiles...but you know every person there is having the time of their life, and can't wait to come back and bring their friends..to a place that's just a little slice of heaven. Everyone go on out...have a burger, a beer...enjoy the bridge...dont forget the t-shirt ! A must for anyone who wants a great road trip!!
