Beef began tattooing in 1993 in his house with a home kit like most beginning tattoo artists. Finally, between working regular jobs and going to college he started tattooing in Urbana, IL in a shop called Vision Would by Ray Hughes. Then, in 1999 he moved to Cedar Rapids, IA to work. In 2005, he finally opened his own shop, Beef Tattooing. Working with him is a female artist named Megan.

Beef & Megan are by far the best we have been to. We have had work done at four shops in town & they are the only ones that we will go back to for everything else we ever do!

Beef's tattooing is the place to go if you want QUALITY artwork and color done! I can't say enough about Beef's experience and knowledge when it comes to tattoos. Not only does he truly CARE about how your tattoo comes out, he shares his ideas and makes suggestions on color etc., if you need help. This piece on my back was just completed two days ago, so I don't have the completed photo yet with the wings colored, but this piece was inspired by a favorite artist of mine, Victoria Frances. Beef did a fabulous recreation and added features that were not in the original art-work. I will never go to anyone else except Beef. His work speaks for itself!
