Brewed Awakenings is a family owned, INDEPENDENT coffee house. There has been a lot of talk about how the Marsceau family came to be “Brewed Awakenings” and I can assure you that Brewed Awakenings is the spawn of a Percocet influenced dream by the Old Man.There have been twists and turns ever since, and hopefully many more to come. We are proud to offer the best coffee in Cedar Rapids made by people who place coffee in at least one of the top 3 categories of their life and by people who are striving to learn more and more about this complex bean, meanwhile hoping to perfect the extraction process for the benefit of the world! We pull espresso oozing with polyphasic colloidal foam (CREMA!), we pour art on every drink, and we provide a laid-back atmosphere in which stories abound.

I love the cozy environment, it is non assuming and comfy to sit and sip even when alone. Reminds me of the old college days a drop by place where you can stop by and strike up a conversation with anyone...or not.
The barristas do the most fabulous designs in the froth, truly a WORK OF ART! And I have sampled many gourmet coffees near and far. This is by far my favorite for flavor and still a bargain price.
Oh yes did I mention they have soymilk?

When you enter a Coffee House you pay attention to the atmosphere. That's the 1st thing you notice once you enter. It's great, warm and welcoming. The music is unique, people are friendly and food is great! Just the right combination of ingredients needed to start your day or to end your day.

Brewed Awakenings has amazing espresso & baked goods! It's a family owned business, which I think is great. The atmosphere is cozy & I am always greeted with a warm smile:-)

Is there any place to park there? If your not walking over from Coe it looks like parking is rather limited.

The thing I love most about Brewed Awakenings is the employees. Each one is different and brings something unique to the shop. They care about the customers and know their names.
I also love the relaxed "living room" feel to the shop. So different from the typical franchise feel.

This family run, local coffee shop is the best in Cedar Rapids! They have the best espresso around and great lunches too!
