I'm surprised that Cafe Dodici didn't run away with this category. That it wasn't even in the top 5 is even more perplexing. This is by far the best restaurant (not only in the Italian category) in the area. It's definitely worth the trip from Iowa City. The food and service are outstanding and the owners come around chatting and actually care what their customers think. Based on the places that did finish in the top 5, I would assume that the people voting would also find a frozen stouffers lasagna or an italian chicken sandwich from BK fine Italian dining.
I don't know how anyone could not love Cafe Dodici. The ambiance and food are the best in eastern Iowa. Friendly and warm, you are immediately at ease, but the food is world class excellent. The chef is Italian and you can tell from the authentic dishes, made with the best ingredients and loving care. I literally can't say enough good things about it. JCR
I love the warm, friendly atmosphere--I love that they have atmosphere! Lorraine, Tsalika and Alex have created a wonderful restaurant--truly an Eastern Iowa treasure. The food is exceptional, service is great--definitely worth the drive from Cedar Rapids!
Cafe Dodici has the best Italian food and most romantic atmosphere. It is definitely worth the trip to Washington, IA! Hands down it is my favorite restaurant.
We took family that have been to restaurants in NY City and they are amazed that this small town treasure is available to the us. It competes with the style, atmosphere and class of the City as well as the Excellent food and Wonderful wine. The owners make us feel welcome snd it has become our favorite place to go!
Cafe Dodici is a wonderful hot spot in our "little" town. Come by for the great atmosphere and excellant food. Don't leave without finishing your meal with AMAZING dessert. The Chocolate Kaluha Cake is my fav!
I live in China so whenever I go home to Washington I can eat something different everyday at the restaurant or next door at their shop. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries of the world and have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world and Café Dodici ranks right up there with the best of them.
Remarkable food. The only Italian restaurant in eastern Iowa that is ANYTHING similar to eating in Northern Italy. (although they have food from all over Italy on their menu)
