"While you're away, love for your dog night and day." That's the motto at Canine Country Cottage. Becky Embree, an ABKA member, has created a unique home atmosphere for your dog. Located just north of Mount Vernon, Canine Country Cottage is the result of a creative vision and years of planning. Amidst country surroundings, the new facility offers overnight boarding and full or half-day care. The 1,900 square-foot "cottage" has separate rooms for small and large dogs along with an indoor activity/playroom. Outside, there is plenty of room for long walks and a large play area. Boarders and daycare guests partake in small play groups--depending on personality, size and social skills. Just like daycare for your children, Becky treats your dog the same. Guests are pampered with long walks, snack times, naps, ample bathroom breaks and personal attention. Becky's goal is to keep your dog entertained so they don't have to think about being away from home.

We have been taking our Boxers to Becky's since they were babies. We love the wine open spaces, the country feel, the VERY clean facility and Becky. It is a warm place and we know our dogs are very well taken care of. We also love Maddy and JoeBoxer, Becky's dogs. They show our dogs how it is done.

Best kennel in eastern Iowa, without a doubt!! My dogs love going out to Becky's so much, just the mention of her name gets them all excited. Becky obviously takes great pride in taking great care of other's dogs to the point even the dogs know it! Doesn't get any better than that. A+ kennel.

After the first visit, Becky knew my dog and me on a first name basis. My dog is always treated like she is Becky's puppy and always looks forward to a return visit to play with the other guests. I will not take her anywhere else.
