Carol "Charlie" Belding is an area native that worked her way up from serving at the Highlander to manager of the Ironman Inn to the owner of "Charlie's" the area's best bar and grill. She opened her first bar in 1983 and has been moving upward since. From her first bar that had 600 comfortable and cozy square feet with a roaring fire to one of the biggest bars in the area. She has built Coralville and Iowa City's best place for adults to hang out or party & has been voted the areas best bar with the coldest beer two years in a row! Her parties are infamous and include the annual Halloween party, New Year's Eve party, St. Patrick's Day party, the Annual Golf Outing and many more! If you miss a day here you miss a lot! Whether you are looking for a quiet corner for two or a fantastic party for 200, Charlie's is the place!

Yay Charlie's! Ya got my vote! :) There is not a bar with a better group of people working for them, everyone is friendly and fun! The atmosphere is fantastic as well, Good luck guys! :)

We use to spend alot of time at Charlies before we moved south. There will never be another "Charlies" as far as we are concerned.

Very friendly and Charlie never forgets a face.

I had to spend some time in coralville/ic while my husband was in the UIHC. Came here to take a break from the hospital and get a bite to eat. Very friendly staff and good food. Management was also great. Felt very welcome and was remembered on a return trip.
