We are Cedar Rapids area's only locally-owned movie theatre. We bring you movies that haven't otherwise been available in the Cedar Rapids area in the past and also the best in second-run hits. We do it CHEAPER and BETTER than any of the full-priced theatres in town. All of the prices are cheaper, not just tickets. We won't gouge you at the concession stand, either. Everything is cheaper, we have a much better selection and it's the ONLY theatre in town where you can get REAL BUTTER, and it's self-serve!
Not a lot of glitz, but the best service around. It's the only place where they know you by name and treat you like family. Now when the Midnight Movies start up again, I'll be happy as a lark in a lake...ok that's not really a cogent phrase, but you know what I mean.
This is about the best theater out there. You get to see the hit movies for half the price and have real popcorn with REAL butter! How great is that? Plus, with a special greeting (most of the time from the owner himself) you have the chance to win prizes and be officially welcomed to enjoy this wonderful experience!
What a deal -- a great value, excellent service, & personalized welcome (usually by the owner himself.) With places like this, who needs those big, commercial chains?
The popcorn is authentic to a movie theater (the butter is actually real popcorn butter - you can pour it youself), and the staff was nice enough to let my friend start the movie. Afterwards, one of the ushers reflected on the movie with us.
Simply put, Collins Road Theatres is more customer-oriented, going the extra mile without having to ask.
When this theatre first opened, I was skeptical that it would survive with all the competition. It's still here and for good reasons. The customer service is the best I've EVER experienced in a movie theatre. They treat you like you are more than just another ticket sold. This theatre works with independent films - host of the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival. Wise move! I really like how they cater to the public and you can go to their website and suggest movies you would like to see in the future. Best of all - this place had REAL BUTTER and you can put it on the popcorn yourself. YUM! The movies and food are less expensive than any other theatre in Cedar Rapids and the friendly staff and community involvement is priceless. You will love this theatre. Give it a try if you haven't already.
Collins Road is the best theatre in town. The low prices for tickets and concessions is a big plus! I also love that Bruce often offers movies especially independent films that other theatres in CR never offer. Thanks for the variety in films! Keep up to good work!!

I love this theater. The prices are great. I can take my whole family of 5 to to a movie and only spend $30 and everyone can get drinks and popcorn. You can't even get in to the other theaters for that. I also like how clean it is. The last time I took my daughter to a movie at one of the other theaters they didn't even let anyone in until after the movie was suppose to start because they were cleaning it. Then it was not even clean. We waited almost 40 mins. I have never had to wait to see a movie at Collins Road. I LOVE THIS THEATER!!!!!!

As Sparkles and Sprinkles The Clowns we LOVE clowning for the Collins Road Theatre FREE SUMMER KIDS MOVIES. It's so much fun to clown around at a movie theatre that provides quality family entertainment FOR FREE in the summer and affordably priced entertainment throughout the rest of the year! And of course, clowns love popcorn with real butter, it's even better than circus popcorn!
The kids and I love this theatre, and The man in charge and Sparkles the clown,and wife sprinkles and the free stuff and the kids trays and the prices and how comfortable it feels in there. We have to say it is a great time!!!
Even though the movies are older, this theater is a good option if you want to go see a movie but don't want to spend a lot on tickets. They also give away free stuff at movies.

You Guys are so Awesome!! I went to a movie at some other theater cuz I had a gift card...Never Again!!! There was no experience to be had..you cant say that about Collins Rd. We love you!! And the Real Butter Rocks!!
At Collins Road, I am always impressed by how friendly the staff is! Wow. With cheap ticket prices and good popcorn--why go to another theater for a movie? Also, the mgr sometimes visits the movie before it starts. Neat!
