In 1987, Dawn resurrected a box of beads from her childhood and began making jewelry and other custom items. From casual sales and a booth in the Farmers’ Market, Dawn’s jewelry led to a small, one-room shop, where customers began to take an interest in her materials. That led her to sell the beads themselves and to begin conducting classes in jewelry-making and beadwork. Dawn’s collection grew, the classes grew, and the store grew, eventually moving to a converted arts and crafts style house on Washington Street, just a block down from the Farmers’ Market where it all began.
