Simply put, Dog Zone is a facility where dog owners can bring their dogs to gather and play together while being supervised by experienced dog handlers. Dog daycare differs from pet sitting or day boarding in that the dogs are allowed to play with other compatible dogs off leash while getting exercise and socialization in a neutral location. Dog daycare gives your dog a safe and constructive environment in which to dream up things to do. At The Dog Zone, there are many toys and a wide variety of playmates to keep your dog entertained all day long.
We tried other training services for Bear that failed. We heard about the Dog Zone and decided to give it 1 more try. I REALLY wish we would've found them 1st and not wasted the needed time to train him. Dawn has worked magic on him and he's a new dog. Bear enjoys it so much we are enrolling him in the daycare services. All we can say is thanks to Dawn and Dick for the services they provide.
We have a new golden retriever puppy and are taking puppy classes with Dawn, he is wonderful with the dogs and the people! We have learned so much and will have a happy well trained dog for a life time!

Ellie is a 2 yr old Golden Doodle. Lovable but full of energy. Without Dog Zone, I'm not sure she would still be with us. Ellie attends 3 days a week. She is excited to go and comes home calm. We love Dog Zone. Thank you Dick and Dawn.
Everyone at the Dog Zone is great! It's nice to know I have a place I can leave my dog for the day where he can run and play safely. He's tired but happy when I bring him home.
Thanks to everyone who works there, great job everybody!
"Because dogs are just children are fur" is not just the Dog Zone's tag line... It's the way they treat client's pets... Just like kids that need to play, have fun (and behave as well). Forewarning: Your dog is likely to crash for the rest of the evening after playing here. :)
I don't know what I'd do without the Dog Zone!! It gives me such great peace of mind to know my pets are in a safe and loving environment while I'm at work. Plus what I paid for a 15 minute dog walk in Chicago buys me an entire day of daycare at the Dog Zone.
We adopted our wonderful golden retriever, Buddy, over the summer. He loved staying at home with our teenage daughter during the day. After school started, we began feeling guilty about leaving Buddy in his kennel while we were at work/school and decided to look into alternative solutions. We visited dog daycare facilities and were less than impressed...then we went to The Dog Zone. The staff was friendly, helpful and made sure we were comfortable with the process. Buddy loves going to daycare to play with his new friends - human and canine alike. Thank you Dawn and Dick for having a fabulous facility, a wonderful staff and for understanding that pets aren't just pets, they are family!
There is no place else that I would trust with the welfare of my buddie all day long. The owners and all the staff are excellent in the care they provide.
I think it's really important to spend time with your own species. I trust the people at the Dog Zone to love and care for my pet as I would as he enjoys being a dog!
I take both of my dogs to the DogZone, they absolutely love it and so do I! Dawn and Dick Walton are the wonderful people, I am so thankful that they started the dog day cares here in Cedar Rapids. I trust them implicitly with my 4 legged babies, as well as all of their staff. It is such a wonderful place for my dogs. If anyone deserves this..the DogZone does! Thank you KCRG for the opportunity to vote for them!
We got a golden retriever two years ago. We thought it was unfair to leave a puppy in a kennel all day while we worked, so we took her to the Dog Zone. We had planned on that being a short term thing, but we fell in love with the Dog Zone and so did our dog. It is clean, our dogs loves it and best of all the staff is friendly and knowledable. Our dogs goes three days a week and we all love it.
Dawn and Dick Walton treat their customers (dogs and humans) like family. They are also dedicated volunteers for the Guide Dog Foundation and having been raising puppies for that organization for many years. They are wonderful people with a wonderful service! Our dog attends their dog day care center once a week (has for two years) and she is always "pooped" and happy when she comes home ... makes for a nicer, better socialized pet/companion.
