Located on the pedestrian mall in downtown Iowa City, Givanni's is a hip, casual, upscale restaurant with stimulating bi-weekly chef's features and a vast wine selection. Givanni's Menu is inspired by Italian, American, and vegetarian cuisine. Our head chef, Bryan Herzic, changes the Chef's Features every two weeks. Past favorites include veal osobuco and wild coho salmon. Our pasta chef, Vincent Hiser, has been creating our homemade pasta for 20 years. His amazing creations include sweet potato ravioli and spinach ravioli with shrimp. The bread we serve with our entrees is baked from scratch at our sister company, the Bread Garden. Our restaurant can accommodate reservations and private parties for up to 50 guests.

I am first-generation Italian and this is far from it. The only thing that was decent was the steak...but the pasta was not very tasty. More along the line of bland and salty. The service wasn't all that attentive and not very knowledgeable about the menu. At twice the price of a chain menu with the same taste of poor quality.

My husband and I LOVE Givanni's...it is so warm and inviting. The food is TERRIFIC too!

I think that Givanni's is the best because it is CONSISTENTLY wonderful. It also is not a "chain restaurant" like some of the other contestants. Chain Italian restaurants are not REAL Italian.

The setting is even more inviting than the food. It's like you stepped right into a piece of artwork. And the pasta tastes like its made-to-order!

Givannis has a very unique atmosphere and the food is always great. Their sweet potato ravioli is delicious!
