I think the place could use some updating. It is a bit dingy and out dated. The dress selection is huge! But it is frustrating that not all girls are a size 6 and it is harder to find "THE DRESS" if it is not in your size. Which Davids does do. I have to say that I have been to Hopes and a few times I was helped and treated like a queen and other times it was a fend for yourself trip. I recommend going during the week during the day. Weekends are a fend for yourself time. It never hurts to call and schedule an appointment. Overall it was okay.
I think Hope's is great and everyone there is very kind. I wonder why a couple people had bad experiences there. That's too bad, but I think they are really great there and their selection can't be beat! Hope's seems like a big-city shop, with small-town service.
I went here to look for a bridal gown, no one helped me for over 30 minutes then I left. I went another time and the woman was very rude and not helpful at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Hope's has a huge selection, dresses you can't find anywhere else, and a staff that really is fun to work with and genuinely nice. Since it's a family run shop, they care and really appreciate their customers. I think it's a great place for bridal AND prom!
I've been purchasing formal gowns at Hope's Bridal since I was a teenager and when it came time to find the perfect wedding dress last year, Hope's was the only place I would go. Hope's has dresses at their store that are not seen anywhere else - making it perfect for someone like me that wants what no one else has! Now a resident of Illinois, I came back to Iowa to find the dress for my perfect day, along with dresses for the rest of my wedding party. After attending my wedding and seeing my dresses, I have been asked by future brides in southern Illinois where they kind find a unique dress for their perfect day. Thank you Hope's for making my wedding day perfect!
After a horrid experience at David's Bridal where we were double booked with another Bride, and got hardly any help whatsoever, we found the beautiful pink barn in the middle of the country! We came to Hope's 20 minutes before they were scheduled to close because we got lost in the process of finding it. When we got there, the girls were very helpful and even though they were supposed to close in 20 minutes, they didn't rush us one bit! We were able to find my Mom a perfect wedding dress after asking one of the girls to take a certain dress off the display! The second she put it on, we knew we had the right one! Our helper immediately started grabbing accessories to help our mom look her best! We even found 5 bridesmaid dresses and were fitted for them that day! We paid for everything and they kept the shop open for us until 5 o'clock even when they were supposed to close at 4 on a SUNDAY!!! That was the best service I've ever seen at any bridal shop! I know when I get married I will definitely come back to this wonderful place! It's hard to find great personable service like this anywhere else!
This is a great place to buy a prom ore wedding dress! Great service and friendly smiles greet you when you walk in and they stay with you until you have found the dress you love! I definatly recommend this store!
Wow, I am truly amazed to see the "good" comments about this particular Bridal Shop. I had a horrible experience as a bride searching for my "perfect" dress. When I arrived I was told I would have someone helping and working with me. Never once did anyone attempt to "help". I did get one question from the staff "what are you looking for"? When I replied she basically said ok and walked away to continue her lunch I believe. I finally just got so frustrated after trying on two pitty dresses, that I left. If you could consider digging and digging through dresses a perfect place to find something then to each their own. I wish luck upon anyone trying to find something in that place!!!
I tried on my wedding dress today and it is everything that I've ever dreamed of. Hope's didn't have the dress in the store however they were able to order exactly what I wanted for both my wedding dress and bridesmaid dress. With most of my bridal party out of state Hopes has made it smooth sailing for dressing me and my bridal party. This wonderful experience is due to Diane and her wonderful staff.
Wonderful Bridal shop, and a great owner who will stand by her product. Great staff and the prices were unbeatable by the time i took care of everything in that shop. It isn't a big chain, you aren't going to end up with the same dress as you cousin if you shop here.
This is the most amazing bridal shop I have ever been too. believe me, i know current bridal and this shop has it with the service to make you feel like a queen. The owner will stand by anything and will do anything to make your wedding a dream. The staff was so helpful and never turned me down for not having an appointment. I went to celebration bridal and davids bridal and never got this kind of service and attentivness.
After further discussion with Diane regarding my previous comment a resolution has been made. It appears that the outcome will be favorable for all concerned. I truly appreciate her understanding in ensuring that my daughter will be wearing a prom dress that fits, is what she likes and that she feels beautiful in.
After a recent (unresolved) experience with a potential purchase at Hope's Bridal, I will definitely not be including this boutique in any of my families future purchases of formal gowns. My daughter, a minor, was informed that to place a dress on hold she must put down $50 in order to ensure the dress is still there to brings her parents in fore viewing. Upon my arrival I was in amazement that the staff even felt this dress was remotely close to fitting. Initial conversations between my daughter and the staff were that if this dress was decided against then a new dress could be selected or there would be forfeiture of the $50. However, the owner has since informed us that we HAVE TO purchase a dress that is clearly not what my daughter was looking for, doesn't fit and I don't feel she should have to "settle" with what they have for selection. I feel this is poor business practice and will definitely be informing all students in our H.S. not to purchase any items from this boutique.
I do know that other business similiar to this will put items on hold and if a customer decides against the purchase for whatever reason the monies that were put down are forfeited. The customer is not forced to purchase an item that they have to "settle" for if they do not have a suitable item to offer the customer.
