After hoping to eat at 126 for several years I made reservations on an evening we had tickets to attend the Gilbert Theatre. To my surprise, 126 had reserved parking in the lot across from the Gilbert; most convenient! My husband raved about the food (trust me, not a common occurrence.) For me, they let me sample three different types of red wine till I found the one I wanted to complement my meal. I am fifty-some years old and don't remember that offer since the Velvet Feed Bag in Cedar Rapids which burnt down (too many years ago.) Someone in the staff gave us a very personalized warm welcome to the restaurant after our meal, but during our meal we were given our privacy outside of a few helpful leads or suggestions. The fabulous dessert shared after our meal was the finishing touch to our evening at 126. We will certainly return when the weather is more conducive to a stroll along the streets of I.C. afterwards.

Definitely Romantic! Especially on a clear summer night when they open the windows.
Food is unusual yet delectible. The staff is so friendly and knowlegeable you feel more like you are in a private setting than a public restaurant.

No 60 inch TV, no music toxicity! Cozy without feeling like you're sitting on the people around you. Food is imaginative, but not too exotic for us beef and spud midwesterners. Excellent staff that is skilled at food and wine pairings and unobtrusive service. No one referred to us as "You guys" or "Dude". Desserts are fresh and exceptional. Highly recommend the rack of lamb. We've tried every restaurant in three counties: this is still our favorite.

One Twenty Six has excellent food and impeccable service. It is cozy and quaint...perfect for a glass of wine with your "someone special."

If you aren't a fan of "Elf" food or don't know fancy names for it than it can be a little intimidating. My best advice is to go and trust the chef. Things that sound horrid together actually meet in your mouth to create an amazing flavor. Some of the best meals I have had in IC have been here.
Be sure to have the beet, gorgonzola, walnut salad. YUM.

I've heard people call One Twenty Six "over-hyped". I've only been there once, but it lived up to, and even exceeded, my expectations. Good wine, great atmosphere, excellent food. I was impressed overall.
