Schera's is a wonderful lil resturant n bar!they have the most awesome food!the owners,servers,n bartenders are absolutely wonderful!! very friendly!a very nice n cozy atmosphere,and a beautiful view from the patio!i definatly recommend this one!
In this quaint little town of Elkader, It's always a pleasure to make Schera's one of my very first stops any time of the year. From the owners who stop to welcome their guests, the staff who are very friendly, to the food that is absolutly delicious. And not to forget a great cup of coffee!

Schera's friendly staff and diverse menu continues to bring us back for more. Besides the wonderful Algerian specialties, there are delicious traditional dishes for the whole family....one of the best tenderloins you can find. There's always a personal greeting from the owners as well as attention to pleasing the customer. The patio overlooking the Turkey River can't be beat especially in the evenings when the tiny white lights and candles create a romanic glow, there's a breeze blowing and live music is playing across the river. There's no place like it.
We visited Shera's as often as possible while working in IA. The owners, staff and food are outstanding. The history of the bar (and the town for that matter) is worth a visit alone.
Schera's food is excellent for a reasonable price. You can't beat the view from the patio, and the atmosphere inside is nice too. Elkader is truly a jewel. Lived most all my life in Cedar Rapids and only recently discovered Elkader. Worth the trip.
