Already a Dubuque legend, Sugar Ray's Barbeque is annually awarded the distinction of serving up the best barbeque in the Tri-States. With his great variety of authentic barbeque favorites, Ray is in a league of his own when it comes to pleasing the palette. The secret lies in a lifelong love and dedication to the art of cooking. In 2000, Sugar Ray's opened as a dine-in and carry out restaurant at 951 Main Street in Dubuque, Iowa. In 2004, Sugar Ray's moved to 1106 University, in the heart of the college food and entertainment district. The menu has expanded to include, of course, not only Ray's famous delicious pork and beef barbeque ribs and sandwiches, his own lightly sweetened coleslaw and sinfully sweet and sassy baked beans, as well as the best fried chicken in town.
