Tuscan Moon Grill on fifth is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday-Saturday. Reservations are suggested on the weekend. Menu includes appetizers, salads, pastas, and entrees including steak, salmon, chicken and seafood. Check out the mid-week specials. Wine tastings monthly and live jazz and blues every weekend.
Well, let's see: great food, warm owners and staff, beautifully decorated, live music, good wine selection...all with easy parking, and no struggling though crowds of, ah, 'revelers' from bars. :) Plus, Kalona is only *15* minutes from Iowa City, not 30. Just take Highway 1, you'll be there in a flash.
Wonderful!! My fiance and I had our first date at the Tuscan Moon. It was the best first date I had ever had. There is no other atmosphere that compares. Service is excellent and the owners are very personable and make you feel like you are their most important customer.
I absolutely love the Tuscan Moon. I have been there many times with my family and the food and wine have always been excellent! The atmosphere is very charming and relaxing; the owners are also very welcoming!

Well worth the drive to Kalona for this unique dining experience, we just celebrated Valentine's day there with a wonderful dinner, atmosphere and great hosts!
Looking for a warm inviting place on a cold winter night?.Want excellent food with a good variety of choices? A relaxing atmosphere? Great service? Five of us had different dishes and ALL judged excellent. Exceeded our expectations. Will go again soon. Can hardly wait to try the patio in the summer. Five star!!
Bet you can't go there just once. We tried, but have been back time and time again. Alway something new on the menu...and such a warm cozy atmosphere. It tops off any visit to Kalona. We spend the day antiquing, then treat ourselves to a fantastic lunch or dinner. Don't cheat yourself out of this experience! P.S. We went during summer, and even found we could eat on the beautiful garden patio and also enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride right at the restaurant! WOW Factor x 2
Tuscan Moon is more than just a great restaurant, it is a destination! The food and atmosphere are wonderful. Paula and Warren treat their customers like special guests. The wine list is exceptional. It is definitley worth the drive, only 30 minutes from Iowa City.
Food was out of this world wonderful and my guest and I really enjoyed our privacy in the upstairs dining experience. Kudos x 2 to this fabulous place.
