In 1904, two gentlemen, a butcher and a cattleman, decided to combine their skills and efforts in a business venture. Their goal was to produce the finest selection of meats, deliver the highest level of service and have a great time doing so.
Now, the fourth generation of the Downings to wield a knife as a butcher, continues the tradition in the finest fashion. Prime & Choice steaks, fresh flown-in Hawaiian seafood, select wines and spirits along with gourmet entrees, creates a delightful pre or post show dining experience.
It's a little bit of a drive for me, so I've only been twice (for Valentine's Day the past two years). Wonderful, unexpected food, great atmosphere, great presentation. They seemed a little understaffed each time I've been, but again, it was always on a big dining out holiday which may explain.
T&D's is the best restaurant in eastern Iowa. The food preparation and presentation is excellent.
The staff is well-trained and perform quite well.
It is likely Dirk or Brenda will visit your table before your evening is over; just to ask if your enjoyed your experience.

Make no mistake...this is the best of the best! Fine wine, unbeatable ambiance, incredible food and an exacting and attentive wait staff. The owners make it a point to visit with each party. This is a rare treasure!
this is my most favorite restraunt! it never gets old. and the pork medallions are to die for! the desert try is fantablous as well. chocolate confusion is one of my favorites! kudos to you chef Brenda and Dirk!
This is the best restaurant in the area. It provides atmosphere, a friendly staff who provide above and beyond service and an excellent menu that appeals to every taste.

This place is a gem in Anamosa, Iowa. Who knew such fine dining was available on such a little main street? Their Valentine's Day dinner package is the best in Eastern Iowa. Great place to take your sweetheart. You will not be sorry you made the drive!
If you're anywhere near Anamosa you should stop in and try Tyler and Downings. Good food, nice atmosphere, great Iowa history. A nice change of scenery if you're in CR or IC.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Hard to beat for fine dining. It was an old butcher shop and market at the turn of the century. Now it's an A-list restaurant.
